Additional Description: The 60's were the golden age of American luxury sedans. The most enduring iconic sedan was the fourth-generation Lincoln Continental. The 1961 Lincoln continental was among the last four door convertibles to be sold in the United States and one of the cars to feature suicide doors until the Rolls-Royce in the 2000's. This 1961 was based on a stretched version of the proposed 1961 thunderbird two-door hardtop that was never built. The stretched version of this car was the vehicle that carried President Kennedy on the day of his assassination in 1963. This 1961 legend was built by California legendary Lincoln builders Curtis Foltz and Robert Telfer. The most prized 1961 Lincoln would be the Convertible and not many were produced in 61. In total 21,347 were built between the seven year stretch and only 10% remain on the road with an extremely small percentage completely restored to factory specifications. In summary to find a complete rebuild, factory perfect restoration is almost impossible. Specifications: 4dr Convertible / 8-cyl. 430cid/300hp 2bbl / curb Weight 4927 lbs. / Vehicle Length 212.4 in. / Wheel Base 123 in. / Rear wheel drive automatic 3 speed gearbox / Gasoline (petrol) engine with a displacement: 7044 cm3 / 430 cui advertised power: 223.5 kW/ 300 hp / 304 PS (SAE gross) / Torque: 631 Nm / 465 lb-ft / Top Speed 197Km/h (122 mph) / acceleration: 0-60 10.3 s & 0-100 10.9 s ¼ mile drag time (402m) 17.6 s / Fuel consumption and miles: average 23.3/100km / 12.1 mpg / standard tire size 9.50-14 / tire width 241mm / tire sidewall factor 90 / Rim size 14' / total wheel diameter 789mm /31.1' The 1961 came with a 430-cubic-inch V-8 that produced 300 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. This powerful V-8 was a member of the MEL (Mercury/Edsel/Lincoln) family of V-8's. The Convertibles were the most complex cars to leave Detroit. The mechanism for the roof uses 10 relays, 5 reverse motors and 15 limit switches. The windows also drop and raise automatically while the top is in motion. It also uses the most advanced hydraulic system of the time to lift and tuck the roof and parts. Every part on the car is either NEW, REBUILT OR REFURBISHED. The car was taken down to the metal before paint. New chrome on all the chromed parts inside and outside of the car. This 'one of a kind' Lincoln was built from an original California car. It has taken over 5 years to build this vehicle and is destined for a showroom or quality car collection.AM/FM,Power Windows,Power Locks,Power Driver's Seat,Power Steering,Clock,Center Arm Rest,Floor Mats,Vanity Mirrors,
