Additional Description: 1959 Volkswagen Beetle - Numbers Matching 1192cc 4 Cylinder Engine - 4 Speed Manual Transmission - EMPI Tool Kit - Original Pans (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are not presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) The restored Beetle convertible offered here is a very nice example of a classic Volkswagen Beetle. It is in every respect a standout automobile. The eye-catching two tone exterior is the result of a restoration that was completed approximately 15 years ago. The green hue on the car looks to be very similar to the original VW color of Rush Green. Color matched wheels wrapped in white wall tires with VW chrome caps finish off the exterior look of this slug bug. Inside, the green seat upholstery with white piping is complemented by matching green and white upholstery on the door panels and lower interior vertical surfaces. A simple design ethic is followed inside the car with only-what's-necessary dashboard instrumentation, a white shift knob, single bar steering wheel, and window winders. Where American cars of that time celebrated chrome and excess, the Beetle was a minimalist's dream. The 1192cc engine here is original to the car, and like everything else, is fully restored. Every mechanical aspect of the car is completely functional including the floor-shifted transmission, lighting, and brakes. Every discriminating collector will want to inspect the undercarriage photographs, so it's worth mentioning that the floor pans are original to the car. It won't take much imagination, however, for the car's new owner to picture piloting this two tone classic Beetle out of the dealership for the first time, maybe on an inaugural drive to the beach. Hey, it's 1959 all over again! Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if interested or e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
